How Credits Work
A quick guide to how platform credits are earned, spent, and lost — and where to check your balance at any time.
What are credits?
Certain actions on Wattilla — posting a listing, posting a request, unlocking a contact, boosting a listing, or adding extra search agents — are paid for with platform credits instead of charging your card every time. You buy a batch of credits up front on Buy Credits, and each action simply deducts its cost from your balance.
What does each action cost?
Unlock Contact
Reveal a seller's or requester's contact details
Post a Request
Publish a buy-side equipment, project or service request
Post a Listing
Publish a project, BESS system or service listing
Boost a Listing
Feature your listing at the top of search results for 30 days
Extra Search Agent
Every search agent beyond your first 2, which are free
Every account starts with 2 free search agents — only the 3rd agent and beyond cost credits.
How do I buy credits?
Go to Buy Credits and choose one of three packages — the more credits in a package, the lower the price per credit. Payment is a one-time purchase processed securely by Stripe; an invoice is generated automatically for every purchase and available as a PDF on Purchases & invoices.
Where can I see my balance and history?
- ·Account → Billing & Credits — your current balance, the next credits due to expire, and your 5 most recent transactions.
- ·Account → Purchases & invoices — the complete history of every purchase and every spend, sortable, with downloadable invoice PDFs.
Do credits expire?
Yes. Credits are valid for 14 months from the date they're added to your account — whether from a purchase, a sign-up bonus, or a credit-back. We'll email you 30, 7, and 2 days before any credits are due to expire, so there are no surprises. Credits not used within that window are forfeited — there's no rollover or cash refund for expired credits.
If you bought credits before the expiry policy started (17 Jul 2026), that balance was grandfathered into a single batch that also expires 14 months from that date — the exact date is shown on Purchases & invoices.
Can I get a refund?
Credit purchases are final and non-refundableto your card or bank account — the same policy used by most credit-based marketplaces. The one exception: if an action fails because of a technical error on our side (for example, you were charged but a listing wasn't created), the credits are returned to your balance as credit-back, not as a cash refund.
What happens when my balance gets low?
We'll email you once when your balance drops to 2 credits or below ("running low"), and again separately if it reaches exactly 0 ("out of credits"). Buying more credits resets these alerts, so you'll be notified again the next time your balance runs low.
