Wattrix (BEG Wattrix e.Gen.) is a registered citizen energy community (Burgerenergiegemeinschaft) supplying renewable electricity across Austria. We aggregate distributed solar generation today, with wind and hydro assets joining the community in 2026, and dynamically redistribute electricity among members every 15 minutes at flat, transparent rates (9.5 ct/kWh for consumption, 8 ct/kWh for feed-in). As we scale toward maximum self-sufficiency for our members by 2027, battery storage is a natural next step: it lets us shift surplus renewable generation to periods of peak community demand, smooth the mismatch between intermittent PV/wind/hydro output and consumption, and further reduce our members' reliance on the wholesale market.
